Location:
Co-operative Training Centre is located at H.Q. City of Deoghar District in the Santhal Pargana Division of the State of Jharkhand, India. Deoghar City is an important Hindu pilgrimage Centre, having in Baba Baidyanath Temple one of the 12 Shiva Jyotirlingam in India. This town is located at 24.48 ° N & 86.7° E. It has an average elevation of 254 metres (833 feet). This centre starts training programme actively in the year 1957. Distance from Ranchi Railway Station to Jasidih Junction is 280 kms. which requires approx. 5 hrs. whereas distance from Kolkatta to Deoghar City is about 370 kms by road.
Objective :
The objective of this centre is to cater training needs of functionaries in the co-operative department and societies of 8 districts viz. Deoghar, Jamtara, Sahebganj, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, Giridih and Dhanbad.
Facilities :
Classroom, Library, teaching aids, better faculty, hostel, vehicle. The centre use various modern teaching aids for effective implementation of training programmes. Centre has a computer with operator and learned faculty. In addition to this, projector, VCD etc. are also available to make the training more effective and interesting for the participants. Besides the financial assistance for training, the state government is also going to improve the classroom and accommodation facilities with A.Cs and modern water purifier for drinking water.
Training Module :
There are presently three course module on the basis of period of training viz. two days, three days and four days training. Description of participants and courses with stipend, fooding etc.
Future Plan :
It has been proposed to upgrade Co-operative Training Centre into Training Institute of Co-operative Management for Diploma & Short Term Courses. Tentative Estimate of Rs. 11.06 Crore for next five year has been prepared and proposed to the Co-operative Department, Jharkhand, Ranchi.
